Meet Krista Dickson, she is an energy worker and educator who helps female entrepreneurs manifest more abundance, improve their mental and physical health, and lead joyful, stress-free lives and businesses. She’s passionate about ending the “hustle” mentality and teaching women to work with energy to get what they want. In her spare time, she loves practicing yoga, reading personal development books, and watching the occasional trashy MTV reality s
how (#guiltypleasure).

1 | Tell me about your company… What does your company do?

I help female entrepreneurs work with energy to overcome stress, burnout, and overwhelm, manifest abundance, and lead healthy, joyful lives and businesses. I love working with ambitious, passionate, soul-centered women who are craving a way to work less, earn more, and make a meaningful impact on the world.

2 | How long have you been working in your industry?

I’ve been an entrepreneur and online educator for two years now. For the majority of my time as an entrepreneur, I’ve worked as a blogging and online business coach and teacher. But last year I felt called to start a new brand and business focused on helping female entrepreneurs uplevel their business with energy work. My new website, kristadickson.com, will be launching this Spring and I’m SO excited!

3 | What are some challenges you have faced being an entrepreneur?

Oh boy, where do I start? Within the first three months of entrepreneurship, I experienced my first period of major burnout. At the time, I was working myself to the bone — 60+ hours per week — and I just completely crashed and felt like I could sleep for weeks on end. Not fun!
I’ve also faced challenges around setting and maintaining boundaries (with clients, students, my family, etc.), financial uncertainty and stress, and trying to find a balance between staying true to who I am vs. using business strategies that have proven successful for other entrepreneurs. I’m definitely still a work-in-progress!

4 | How much has social media impacted your business?

Hugely! Pinterest was the first platform I dove into, and it’s driven consistent traffic to my website pretty much since day one. In 2016 and a bit of 2017, I ran a freelance Pinterest Management business where I helped other entrepreneurs grow their traffic, email lists, and income with Pinterest. And then I created a Pinterest course to help bloggers and entrepreneurs who wanted to grow their Pinterest accounts and traffic but couldn’t afford to work with me 1:1. To date, over 900 people have taken that course (crazy!!)
Nowadays, I’ve fallen in love with Instagram. I really like how intimate and personal Instagram Stories are, and I love using them to get a bit vulnerable and share behind-the-scenes stuff with my audience. It’s so fun!

5 | What motivated you to take the leap and start your own brand?

In 2015, I was working a dead-end job that I absolutely HATED, and one evening I was so stressed that I nearly had a panic attack just thinking about going into work the next day. At that point, I finally realized that enough was enough — I wasn’t going to settle for a minimum wage job anymore, and I was going to go after what I wanted. My biggest goal had always been to blog and work from home full-time, so I set out to make it happen.
Within a month I had quit my job and moved to a new city to start fresh. I started my “Blog Beautifully” online business and brand two months after that, and I haven’t looked back since. It was hands-down the best decision I’ve ever made!

6 | What advice can you give to your fellow millennial entrepreneurs?

Contrary to what a lot of people say, “hustling” and working crazy long hours is NOT the only way (or even the best way) to make it to the top.

When I stopped working 60 hours/week and instead started listening to my intuition, working with energy to attract customers and clients, and following my heart and joy route in everything I did, that’s when I began to experience massive growth and results in my business. Nowadays, I work less than 30 hours per week and I absolutely love what I do and the people I’m privileged to work with.
I would also encourage you to focus on embodying the woman that you want to become in the future, TODAY. For example: How many hours does your future self work per week? Does she take care of her body and make time for exercise and healthy meals? Does she have a small team working underneath her? If so, lean into these things NOW — don’t wait! By embodying the woman and entrepreneur you want to become in the future, you can start to create that as your reality today.

7 | What is your favorite product and why?

At the moment, probably my yoga mat from Lululemon. I’ve made a commitment to practice yoga every morning this year, and so far it’s been amazing. My mind, body, and soul have never felt better!

8 | Who is your biggest influencer or inspiration?

I have a maaaajor girl crush on Jess Lively and everything she does in her business. Her podcast, “The Lively Show” is amazing, and it always feels like the topics she talks about are perfect for the stage I’m in at that moment. If you haven’t checked out her podcast and programs already, definitely do so A.S.A.P.!

9 | Do you have any extra advice you want to give out to the Bossfidence babes?

Trust yourself, go with your gut, and honor your integrity in all that you do. Create a business that you absolutely love to run, and you’ll never “work” a day in your life!
