1 | Tell me about your company… What does your company do?

Collectabl creates capsule wardrobes. Capsule wardrobes are defined by taking a few pieces with a similar color and style story to create many outfits. Our capsules are the ideal way to build your wardrobe because:

– Everything goes together. Our pieces create many outfits all with a cohesive style.
It’s cost effective to buy pieces you know go together. You’ll no longer buy one piece because it is ‘perfect’ just to find you need to buy another piece to match it.
– You’re buying many complete looks at once, saving many, many hours searching for just the right looks in-person. Or searching Pinterest for what seems like hours trying to find multiple ways to wear your new jeans.
– This is a way to become more minimalistic. Life isn’t about the things you have, so you want to spend your time on the things that matter instead of worrying about what you are wearing. Cut down on the amount of pieces you have in your closet, but make more outfits for your wardrobe.

There is a difference between having a closet full of clothes and having a wardrobe. A wardrobe is a thoughtful assortment of items that screams your style. You can add to and personalize your wardrobe however fits your style, but Collectabl provides you with the base you need to curate multiple looks in an easy format. 2 | How long have you been working in your industry?

We’ve been working in online retail since May of 2016. We decided to jump in because our mission is something we’re passionate about. Every day is a new adventure with challenges and learnings.

3 | What are some challenges you have faced being an entrepreneur?

We’ve had a steep learning curve. None of us knew anything about physical inventory or retailing before getting started. We’re learning our industry. Another challenge we’ve had is gathering a following on social media. The algorithms make this difficult. You have to pay for ads to play big, but that’s expensive when you’re a small business. We’ve also had a challenge with time. All of us have full time jobs (for now), so we have to shift priorities often to keep moving toward our goals.

4 | How much has social media impacted your business?

Social media is our life blood. Social media exposure is the way Collectabl builds a community and also the way we advertise. It has been so fun to learn how to create beautiful pictures, meaningful captions and appropriate hashtags. We love seeing what our customers are up to and what they’re interested in.

5 | What motivated you to take the leap and start your own brand?

We wanted to start our own brand because we want to work for ourselves. We are best friends AND we have complimentary skill sets. It is a joy to build something from the ground up with people you care about. We also wanted to provide other women with an amazing product. We really believe in capsule wardrobes and the benefits they can provide to other women. It has been amazing to see our product in action.

6 | What advice can you give to your fellow millennial entrepreneurs?

Create a proof of concept to test with friends/family, run numbers to make sure you can be profitable if you make sales, and get going! The biggest hurdle for most people is just starting. Sometimes, if you know too much about the hurdles you’ll face, you’ll never want to start. Going in just a little ignorant is

7 | What is your favorite product and why?

Can we say our Capsule Wardrobes? If not, our team would probably vote on our iPhones. The User Interface is smooth, the apps are great, and they allow us to get work done on the go!

8 | Who is your biggest influencer or inspiration?

The Collectabl Team loves Jenna Kutcher. She puts such a positive spin on everything and is great at providing her followers with valuable content!

9 | Do you have any extra advice you want to give out to the Bossfidence babes?

Not everyday as an entrepreneur will be easy, but if you stick with it it will all be worth it! Some days will give you more challenges than you know what to do with. On the flip side, you’ll grow tremendously from the experience. Staying in tune with your mission and vision will make the tough days a bit easier.
