The weather is colder, your jackets are heavier, your boots are on and you have a PSL in hand. Yes babes, it is Fall. My absolute favorite time of year! Here are some of my Fall essentials that keep me #flawless and put together (kind of…)
1 | Leather Riding Boots
Whether real or faux, it is an absolute staple to have some knee high boots that you can rock casual or dressed up. Every season I am always scrolling through for the perfect pair that fits my lifestyle. Think of a boot that you can wear with leggings and a tunic to the office and jeans and flannel on the weekends. I just got some amazing boots from Zulilly! They have killer deals going on right now and you won’t want to miss this.
2 | A Fall Life Detox
Think Spring cleaning. I like to declutter and re-evaluate belongings in the Fall too. Why? There’s nothing worse than unwrapping holiday gifts and realizing you have nowhere to put things or walking into your closet and seeing that nothing from previous years fits right or is your style anymore. This gives you an opportunity to take advantage of some holiday sales and get some wardrobe pieces that will take you through the season.
3 | A Body Detox
Every year in October, I do a 2-3 day master cleanse to revitalize my metabolism and clean out all the shit I’ve been holding onto inside my body. While cleanses aren’t for everyone, I feel doing one before the holidays keeps me on track when it comes to passing the holiday cookie tray at the office or having that 5th CPL (yes, CPL, chestnut praline latte. It puts PSL’s to shame) this week when I know I should reach for some green tea. If you’re looking for a long term deep clean that won’t break your bank, I drink Your Tea Tiny Tea almost every morning. It reduces bloat, increases mental clarity and energy and tastes YUM!
4 | Scarves on Scarves
I am the absolute scarf QUEEN. I blame my year working at Ann Taylor Loft. A great way to stay cozy and refresh an old outfit it to pair it with a great scarf! I’m partial to Loft scarves because the quality is top notch, the price is reasonable and prints are fabulous! You can easily pair a flowy tank, blazer, jeans and knee high boots with a gorgeous plaid scarf just the same as you can pair a scarf with your leggings, flannel and moccasins. Head over to Loft, Francesca’s or even Marshall’s and grab a few staple scarves, both lightweight and heavy, that you know can fit in with your current wardrobe.
5 | Leggings
I am one of those girls who lives in her leggings. I just love the feeling of being comfortable, but wearing the standard black leggings can get boring real quick. That’s when I turn to Southwest Legging Co. They have a diverse array of printed leggings that you can wear to the gym and the office. I have paired some of my printed leggings with a tunic and denim jacket with my booties and manage to look polished and professional (make sure your shirt fully covers your booty and crotch before wearing leggings to the office, also consider layering a skirt if your office is more conservative).
6 | Cold Weather Jacket
It doesn’t get snow jacket cold in California but you best believe I still have one! As a Cali girl it’s not practical to break your bank on a thicker, longer hooded coat so I opt for Columbia brand. However, if you’re in treacherous climate conditions (i.e.: the tundra that is Minnesota) you definitely should consider a more reputable brand such as North Face or Polaris. They have very chic winter coats these days and if you get a quality jacket, you won’t need to buy a new one for years so consider it an investment!
7 | Chestnut or Mahogany Tote
Every year when Fall rolls around the color palette of the season speaks to me!! Having a tote bag that is decent quality but matches the colors of the season is a must! My go to place for an affordable seasonal tote is Jane.com. Not only are you supporting small businesses, you get access to top tier products at a low and affordable price.
8 | Monogram Everything
I am thoroughly OBSESSED with clothing company MarleyLilly. They have everything ranging from monogram flats, to wells, to vests and the list goes on. The best part? It is affordable, personal and adorable. Now I know not everyone is on the monogram train, but they offer so many different font and layout options, it is hard to say no.
9 | Carmex Chapstick
There is nothing worse than chapped lips but in the fall and winter, they are the worst. Between the cooler temps and crisp air, your lips are in need of some serious service. The best part about Carmex? You can buy it at your local drug store, it comes in 3 forms (squeeze tube, chapstick tube and a mini jar) and it is seriously CHEAP!
10 | Roses N Rose
Roses N Rose is a local artisan skincare brand that I have absolutely fell in love with. My favorite daily essential is the Rose Water Face Mist. It keeps your skin hydrated and nourished with a powerful blend of coconut oil, vitamin e oil, geranium and rosewater. It has killer anti-inflammatory properties that reduce redness and assist in ridding your face of acne. This spray cleanser will get oil and dirt out of those pores and give you that fresh Fall dewy face! Get yours here: https://www.rosesnroseco.com/products/rosewater-face-mist. I have started using this everyday when I wake up, before the gym and before bed and my skin is #flawless #nofilter.
