Tis the season of toil and trouble, but don’t let your FOMO bubble if you’re in sunny SoCal this season.
This year for the first time ever Tanaka Farms in Irvine, CA has partnered with Sanrio brand to completely brand the shit out of the their farm in all things Hello Kitty & Friends. Having grown up on Hello Kitty with my Great Aunt spoiling me with authentic HK from Japan, I WAS FAN GIRLING!! While I know this destination was meant for kids, the blogger/influencer gang has been taking over the patch for some great promo pics and plenty of fun to be had.
My husband and I went 2nd weekend in October and everything merch worthy was SOLD OUT. The traffic to get in was atrocious and overall the experience was very crowded and anxiety ridden.
I absolutely loved every moment of it though (even though I wish I did get a Hello Kitty Scare Crow or Tote Bag.
Entry is only $3 and if you want to partake in the hayride and some games it’s $10. What a value! Especially if you have plenty of littles, this is the perfect Saturday/Sunday afternoon activity that won’t break your bank.
Not only was there plenty of pumpkin picking, there was an opportunity to pick your own veggies! Tanaka Farms is notorious for having amazing quality veggies.
Tanaka Farms grows and harvests fresh produce right here on the farm by using responsible farming methods. We also purchase other quality produce, which may be conventionally grown. Produce is harvested daily so we can deliver to you the freshest and best tasting produce that we can. The produce stand is open seven days a week all year, except for a short winter break after our Christmas Season in December.
The fruits and vegetables available will vary throughout the growing season. Generally, we will have our sweet strawberries March to June, delicious cantaloupes and watermelons July and August, as well as various other produce that we grow.
The best part of this Hello Kitty collab, is that it won’t end at just this October Halloween season! It is going to become a year round collab that will continue into my personal favorite season, CHRISTMAS! You best believe I am going to be going there on the first weekend so I can make sure I get all my merch and hopefully pick out a lovely tree for our home (even though I am severely allergic, I might struggle through it since my husband loves pine).
I will keep you all updated!
For those of you who want to visit this last week, Tanaka Farms has issued a release on their site outlining new requirements for parking, attendance, etc. I am going to copy and paste it below however, you can reserve on their site which I will link at the bottom!
*IMPORTANT NOTICE*
The following pertains to WEEKEND attendance only
10/21, 10/22, 10/28, & 10/29
Due to the extremely heavy weekend traffic to and from the Pumpkin Patch which has caused undue hardship to our surrounding community, it has become necessary for us to require all guests to obtain a Parking Pass BEFORE arriving at the farm. In addition, pedestrians from the street will NOT be admitted to the farm.
ABSOLUTELY no off farm parking and no admittance without parking pass!
Pumpkin Patch Update as of 10/18:
Our online registration for parking passes is going smoothly! This weekend we are already at 50% capacity so if you are thinking about coming out, go to TanakaFarms.com and register now! Again, we will not be admitting pedestrians nor those without a parking pass onto the farm so PLEASE, PLEASE do not travel out to the farm hoping to get in. Please understand that we are trying to be good neighbors by keeping unnecessary traffic to a minimum. And it saves you time and gasoline also!!To reserve your spot, click here.
