1 | Tell me about your company…
Fresherthan is an E-Comm based brand where you can go to find your favorite characters and pop culture icons in the form of cool art, pins, patches, stickers, and tee shirts. Our categories are always expanding and we’re always open to new collaborations. In addition to our online store, we host pop up shops, art shows, and parties locally in our hometown of Dallas, TX.
2 | How long have you been in business or developing your brand?
Fresherthan started as a blog in 2008 and in 2016 expanded to selling merchandise when we created our first pin. Since then we have continued to add more and more product to the shop.
3 | What are some challenges you have faced being an entrepreneur?
Keeping up with the consumers demand has shown to be a bit of a hurdle, which is why we decided to launch our Patreon subscription. We wanted to find a solution that would help us get better product to the customer faster. Another challenge we are trying to overcome is how to keep a steady flow of traffic coming to the site. We love doing the pop ups but we know the store has more potential for a wider reach.
4 | How much has social media impacted your business?
Social media has been the driving force of most of our marketing. It keeps the customer aware of what’s going on with new product as well as getting the word out for our events.
5 | What makes you unique to other professionals in your space?
Our background in product development and experience in creating merchandise for major retailers. We’ve spent years learning marketing, merchandising, sales and other extremely important skills for getting our ideas into fans’ hands.
6 | What advice can you give to your fellow millennial entrepreneurs?
Don’t underestimate your reach with social media and comfort and complacency are your greatest enemies.
7 | Bossfidence is all about finding your bliss and building your confidence, how did you know that you needed to branch out from your comfort zone?
Being comfortable is the best creativity killer. It was hard pulling away from the things that kept us safe but we know that no one has had a great success without taking risks and making unbelievably large leaps.
8 | Who is your biggest influencer or inspiration?
We are immersed in pop culture, people and memes. The internet is amazing for being able to follow so many people and stories and we just absorb a little bit of everything we can. A quick look at our art shows that we are inspired by a variety of things like Nylon, The Simpsons, traditional tattoos, rap songs & 90s tv.
9 | Anything else Bossfidence.com should know about your company?
As we expand our business and reach new goals, we challenge ourselves to set newer, bigger goals. In the near future we hope to take our pop up shops on the road and cross a US tour off of our list.
