We all know that Sunday’s are for Jesus, Football, Game of Thrones and Mimosas; but what are some other ways we can make it more efficient and effective to start the week off right? Here are some tips that help me prioritize my favorite day of the week and get me a jump start on success.
1 | Rise and Sun Salutation
I find that doing a quicky Sun A on my Sunday morning really helps me get focused for the week. While I don’t regularly practice yoga anymore, this little 2-3 minute flow can really help provide you with energy, calm and focus for the week ahead. Bonus if you can get outside and do it, whether on your patio or in your local park. You’ll thank me later!
2 | Run Your Errands
I seem to find 0 time during the week to catch up on my errands, so having a designated day to do so and having the ability to curate a running list all week really helps. I go grocery shopping Sunday mornings if plans allow (if they don’t I squeeze it into my Saturday’s). This not only helps you get fresh fruits, veggies and proteins for your weekly meals but it gives you a chance to get out to a local farmers market and explore instead of rushing through grocery aisles.
3 | Connect With Your Spirit
For those who aren’t church goers hear me out. While my husband and I guiltily don’t go to church, I still make time out of my Sunday to give myself a moment or two with the universe. This keeps me grounded focusing on my faith in a higher power and it gives me a moment to ask for world wide needs. Remember that Hurricane in Texas? Yeah, I asked for some relief this week for those in need.
4 | Meal Prep!
This goes back to part 2 where you run your errands; I love meal prepping on Sundays! It really helps me provide my family with healthy meals instead of the taco bell drive thru. Yes, I am super guilty of being a lazy wife and I don’t prep (hey we aren’t all perfect) but when I do it is my silent savior.

5 | Catch Up On What You Love (my least effective tip, but my favorite!)
For me, Sundays are for Game of Thrones, football and mimosas; but the other 30 weeks out of the year, I catch up on all my TV shows, log an hour or two into the book I am reading or take my pups to the dog park with my hubs. While TV can be mindless, it gives my mind a break from the politics and drama happening in our world. Whether I am laughing my ass off at Younger or crying my eyes out at This Is Us, I love being able to have a multitude of emotions, inspiration, motivation and laughter than some of these shows provide.
