Set your alarm to your favorite song or a jam that motivates you. If Beyonce gets your booty goin’, crank up some Crazy in Love and get to groovin’ through the 6 a.m. hour after Sunday Funday,
2 | Create a Routine
Every morning if you wakeup and have a routine that is washed, rinsed and repeated, you wont have to worry about having a crazy morning. Every night, lay out your outfit for the next day, prep the coffee pot the night before, make sure your work bag is squared away. Organized chaos is way better than wearing 2 different shoes, being 30 minutes late or forgetting your lunch.
3 | Cherish the Z’s
Just like having a morning routine, have a night time routine as well. Prepare your mind and body after a day of hard work for some R&R. Watch your favorite show, sip on a glass of wine, turn off the email notifications, turn on your oil diffuser. Make your environment a zen zone so you can have quality YOU time (even 5 minutes) to take the edge off.
4 | #GOALS
The first thing I do when I get to the office on a Monday is write down my weekly objectives with check boxes next to them. That way no matter how crazy or hectic my week gets in-between, I always have a reference point to go back to and make sure I handled everything on my list.
5 | Browse Some Memes
Laughter is the best medicine for the Monday blues. Feeling a little down and out around 11am? Take a 5 minute bathroom break and browse some meme’s on your smart phone.
6 | Walk It Out
If the weather and schedule permits, my favorite pastime is taking a quick stroll around the building or a nearby park. This gets the blood flowing to help support mental clarity, relieve stress and give you a vitamin sun boost.
7 | Tea Time
Skip the coffee if you can and challenge yourself to drink green tea. Green tea is not only a metabolism booster (perk) it boosts your mental health and brain function.
8 | Fake It
All else fails and you are in no mood for Monday. FAKE IT TIL YOU MAKE IT! Your colleagues don’t need to be brought down by your moody ‘tude. Give a friendly wave, say hello at the water tank, ask how their weekend was. Don’t let your lack of recovery time from watching the Super Bowl bring down your team.
9 | Pour Some Sugar On Me
A nutritionist somewhere is going to shun me for this but hey, sometimes you need a little sweetness in your life to give you a jump start. 40g of milk chocolate is known to have equal amounts of antioxidants as a glass of vino and the smell of chocolate has the ability to create a sense of calm.
